This Privacy Policy explains how Giulia Brazzoli, Clinical Psychologist (AHPRA Registration No. PSY0002423433, Provider Number 6065369B), collects, uses, stores, discloses and protects your personal information and health information.

I am committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and the Psychology Board of Australia Code of Conduct (effective 1 December 2025). As a health service provider, I am bound by the APPs regardless of annual turnover.

In the course of providing psychological services, I may collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Identity information: Full name, date of birth, gender, address, email address, telephone number.

  • Emergency contact: Name and telephone number of a nominated emergency contact.

  • Referral information: Details from your referring General Practitioner, including your Mental Health Care Plan and referral letter.

  • Medicare and billing information: Medicare number, private health insurance details, payment information.

  • Communication records: Emails, signed consent forms, and other correspondence.
     

2.2 Health Information (Sensitive Information)
 

Health information is classified as “sensitive information” under the Privacy Act and receives a higher level of protection. I may collect:

  • Clinical information: Reason for seeking therapy, presenting concerns, psychiatric and medical history, current medications, history of self-harm or suicidal ideation.

  • Assessment results: Outcomes of psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations (including ADHD assessments).

  • Session notes: Clinical notes documenting the content and progress of therapy sessions.

  • Treatment plans: Agreed therapeutic goals, interventions, and progress.
     

2.3 Website Information
 

This website does not collect personal information directly. There are no contact forms, registration forms, or intake forms on this website. You do not need to provide any personal data to browse the site or download documents.

However, the Wix platform (which hosts this website) may automatically collect certain technical information through cookies and similar technologies, including:

  • IP address and approximate geographic location

  • Automatically through this website via cookies and analytics tools operated by Wix (technical data only, as described in section 2.3).

I will only collect health information with your explicit consent, unless collection is required or authorised by law.
 

4. Why I Collect Your Information
 

I collect and use your personal and health information for the following purposes:

  • To provide psychological assessment, therapy, and counselling services.

  • To communicate with you about appointments, treatment, and administrative matters.

  • To process Medicare rebates and private health insurance claims.

  • To comply with my legal, regulatory, and professional obligations (including AHPRA and the Psychology Board of Australia).

5. Disclosure of Your Information
 

I will not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. I may disclose your information in the following circumstances:

  • Your referring GP or treating team: With your consent, I may share relevant clinical information with your GP or other health professionals involved in your care.

  • Medicare and health insurers: To process rebates and claims, I may disclose necessary billing and service information.

  • Professional supervisors: De-identified information may be discussed in clinical supervision to ensure quality of care.

  • Legal requirements: I may be required to disclose information where required or authorised by law, including:

  • Where there is a serious and imminent threat to life, health, or safety of any individual or the public.

  • Where disclosure is necessary for the establishment, exercise, or defence of a legal claim.

  • Mandatory reporting obligations relating to the protection of children.

  • In response to a valid subpoena, court order, or other lawful request.
     

6. Data Storage and Security
 
6.1 How I Protect Your Information
 

I take reasonable steps to protect your personal and health information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. Security measures include:

  • Clinical records are stored securely in password-protected electronic systems.

  • Paper records, if any, are stored in locked premises accessible only to me.

  • Telehealth sessions are conducted via Zoom using encrypted video connections.

  • Email communications are conducted via standard email (Gmail), which is not encrypted end-to-end. If you have concerns about email security, please discuss alternative communication methods with me.

  • Access to your records is restricted to me.
     

6.2 Where Your Data Is Stored
 

Your clinical records are stored electronically in Australia. Email correspondence (including signed consent forms sent to me by email) is stored on Google’s servers via Gmail. Google stores data in secure data centres globally. For details, refer to Google’s Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

This website is hosted by Wix.com Ltd., which stores website data on servers located in the United States, European Union, and Israel.
 

6.3 Data Retention
 

I retain your clinical records for a minimum of 7 years from the date of last contact, as required under Australian healthcare record-keeping obligations. For clients who were minors at the time of treatment, records are retained until the client reaches 25 years of age, or for 7 years from last contact, whichever is longer.

After the applicable retention period, records will be securely destroyed.
 

 

7. Your Rights
 

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the following rights:

  • Access: You may request access to the personal and health information I hold about you. I will respond to your request within 30 days. In certain limited circumstances, access may be refused (e.g., where providing access would pose a serious threat to life or health).

  • Correction: You may request correction of personal information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant, or misleading.

  • Complaints: If you believe I have breached an Australian Privacy Principle, you may lodge a complaint with me directly. If you are not satisfied with my response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.

  • Withdrawal of consent: You may withdraw your consent to the collection or use of your information at any time. Please note that withdrawing consent may affect my ability to provide psychological services to you.

I provide psychological services via telehealth (Zoom video conferencing). In relation to telehealth:

  • Sessions are conducted via Zoom, which uses encryption to protect the connection. However, no electronic communication is guaranteed to be 100% secure.

  • I conduct sessions from a private and secure location. You are responsible for ensuring your environment is also private and secure.

  • Recordings of sessions are not made unless explicitly agreed in advance.

  • In the event of a technology failure, I will attempt to re-establish the connection. If this is not possible, I will contact you by telephone to reschedule.
     

10. Children
 

This website and the services described are intended for adults aged 18 and over. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.
 

11. Third-Party Links
 

This website may contain links to third-party websites (e.g., Zoom, Medicare, Double Bay Doctors). I am not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. I encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
